Transition between biome textures

Hi,

Is it possible to use a stamp on top of an existing terrain and use another ground texture, then make the two ground textures fade together? Like if I want to make a smooth transition from a grass biome to a desert biome.

Yes it is possible to do this. 

I would stamp out the terrain first, then on the biome apply the textures after. 
Use a distance mask to control the area of which the texture would be applied, and then use a noise mask for blending. 

If you are using the world designer, you would need to go into the Gaia Manager, and go to the advanced tab and add the normal stamper to the Hierarchy. 

Set the stamper to global to conform to the terrain without any harsh lines.
