Roads with Noise appear to float

So I'm having issues with roads in Gena Pro. When I use a road and one of the new pathways, and use noise, it makes it look like the path pieces are floating above the terrain.

No amount of edge blending, setting to ground, or ground offsets fixes it. I've even lowered the road using carve. If still looks like it's floating.

@Tikal When you clip into the ground so that both the terrain and the road are cut off in the scene view, and then adjust the "Ground Offset" parameter? Without any Ground offset there is a noticeable gap between the road and the terrain:

With the ground offset reduced the mesh should be as close to the terrain as technically possible - the road mesh and the terrain mesh have different geometry and you can get only so close without running into clipping / z-fighting issues:

At this distance it is very difficult to tell the two apart within reasonable camera distance / angles imo.
