ThirdPersonCharacter.cs - How to Enable double-jump and movement while airborne?

I'm playing with the provided ThirdPersonCharacter.cs and ThirdPersonUserControl.cs within Gaia, and I'm trying to fix an issue where the character can fall in some crack and get stuck in a jump/float animation. I'd like to make it so that you can still add momentum to a character while they are airborne with the movement keys, and also enable a double-jump or infinite jump. Anyone want to jump in and help figure it out?
