Terrain is visible through the road from some angles

I have highlighted the problem in the attached diagram, from some angles (very many, basically all angles except directly from above) the terrain is visible through the road, I know this is an issue with the depth culling or something of that sort. But I can't seem to find how to fix it, please help me out.

This can happen if the terrain and the road are very close to the same height. 
I recommend looking at the spline and use the Carve extension and lower the terrain slightly. 
Should get rid of this issue.

What setting of the carve extension do I change to lower the terrain slightly?

That would be the Height Offset (y)
