Update: Scene Optimizer v1.1.5

Recommended Posts

We're thrilled to announce a new update for Scene Optimizer. This update comes with major bug fixes and several improvements based on your feedback, and highlights an inherent limitation in Unity.

We've also identified a Unity limitation that prevents perfect preservation of the UV2 channel during mesh combination, crucial for Global Illumination. We're exploring ways to navigate this. For now, we are currently able to preserve most of the cases of UVs by transferring and scaling the 'UV2' data appropriately.

For a clearer understanding, take a look at the following before and after:

As you can see, the UVs are preserved and scaled to appropriately fit the original UV scales.

To see this in action, we can re-bake our Global Illumination and you can check by the windows that the lighting data is being appropriately scaled.

The update is available for our Canopy Pro subscribers or on the Unity Asset Store.
