After talking with the team this is due to the Shader that is being used. 
The shaders would need to be combined in order to work properly.

Hi @Mattis89 I double checked with the team, and one more thing you could do is to try if it works with regular unity fog (which it should) in your project, if this is the case you would need to contact Hendrik to see if the two systems can be aligned.

You could change the shader type (if it has it) rendering from shader to Alpha. 
That has helped me in the past. Not sure if that asset has it though. 
It would be in the bottom part of the shader.
