  • 1a. Using Render Pipelines (HDRP, URP)

    Bryan

    TO USE AND INSTALL HDRP

    1. Install the pipeline from the package manager, (its important to install the correct pipeline version according to unity version.

    2. Window- Procedural Worlds- Gaia- Manager- Setup- Switch the render pipeline to the HDRP version.

(it will show the recommended version you need)

    3. You MUST install the shaders (you can select this in the manager itself.)

    4. If you have buildings you need to update it in the edit menu- render pipeline- upgrade project materials

    to HDRP materials.

    TO USE AND INSTALL URP

    1. Install the pipeline from the package manager, (its important to install the correct pipeline version

    according to unity version.

    2. Window- Procedural Worlds- Gaia- Manager- Setup- Switch the render pipeline to the URP version.

(it will show the recommended version you need)

    3. You MUST install the shaders (you can select this in the manager itself.)

    4. If you have buildings you need to update it in the edit menu- render pipeline- upgrade project materials

    to URP materials.

Note: You must go into the edit menu- render pipeline- upgrade project materials to whatever pipeline that you are using so that your objects or prefabs are corrected and you don't get a weird color.

A potential source for ERROR: If shadows, or everything looks strange; you can go to the project settings- graphic settings- Script render pipeline settings- click on it and look at the profile settings.

Reverting back: If for some reason you want to revert back all you need to do is go back to the Gaia Manager and select revert. If you do this objects may look weird, you will have to go to the materials of the object and correct the shader to standard.

What Render Pipeline Should I Use?

That really depends on you, and what you want to do with your project. You may stick with the default or URP is for the Mobile Developers, HDRP is for high end PC.
