Problem with Substract Height stamper operation

Hi!

 

Hi all! I'm having some problems with the subtract height operation. I'm using the distance mask but still got this result

 

I've been tweaking all the parameters but nothing seems to work

Change the influence to local. 
 Then change the mask space to global. 
Mountains or dips you should use the Axes Circle. 
Rivers and such you would want to use square.

Having a similar problem.  Trying to make a trench between two islands, but cannot get rid of the sharp edge of the stamp.  Is there some kind of second mask that removes the square edges of the stamps?  Too easy to generate artifacts.

Again looking at these images you would want to set the influence to Local and the mask space to global. 
You may need to adjust the size and hit the (R) key resize gizmo and go down with it not make it larger. 
Also this is just texturing any time that you adjust the terrain you will need to spawn the textures again. 
Although I would wait until you are done modifying the terrain. 
Thats all I am seeing there.
