How to safely duplicate User Session

I want to ask if I duplicate a scene in Unity that has Gaia Generated Terrains with Tools as well in its hierarchy then the new scene will be referring to the same terrain as well due to same user session, I can easily create a new user session in duplicated scene, but what if I want to continue my work from last user session in the scene and I also want to duplicate user session (duplicating every terrain and things associated with it so it won't effect the old one), any idea how to safely duplicate User Session?

It would create a new User Session however, if you wanted to keep working on the terrain then you would simply click that session and play it. That way you always have a backup as well.

This can be found in Assets - Gaia User Data - Sessions

When you play the session it will recreate everything in that session in the new scene.
Then you can keep working.

You can also rename the session as well you that way you know what is what.

Thanks for such a detailed response. I also need to know how I can transfer heightmap backup of the changes I made in one session to another newly created session (if everything is same, as its duplicate of other session which i created by playing it. Also is there any way to also apply the terrain layer paint changes to new terrains as well?

I am not 100 percent sure but if the height is still the same then the spawner should react the same way for the texturing.

In terms of the height you can actually use the scanner.
To access the scanner you need to go to the Gaia Manager and then you need to go to advanced tab.
Then tools and then add the scanner tool.
This will allow you to save a height map of the current terrain that you can then use on a new scene.

Then you would use the stamper and then stamp that on the world.

Hope this helps!
