Could I use GTS on voxel terrains?

Hi,

 

first of all congratulations on releasing GTS :)

I'm interested in knowing if I could use GTS on voxel terrains using marching cubes.

Hi @Zimnel, unfortunately not, the infrastructure for it is set up to assume a classic unity terrain - voxel terrains would allow for tunnels and overhangs which would cause issues with some of the rendering features, and usually you would want to move from splatmap-based texturing to something else (e.g. vertex colors) so you can have a different texture appear in a tunnel. This is currently not supported as well.

Thanks for the response, yes I would need vertex colors, it's a pity it's not supported. Will keep an eye on it though :)
